§ 8-54. Installment payment of fines—Community service credit.

  • (a)

    When a fine is assessed for violating this Code or an ordinance, it shall be within the discretion of the municipal judge to provide for the payment of a fine on an installment basis under such terms and conditions as he may deem appropriate.

    (b)

    When a fine and court costs are assessed for violating this Code or an ordinance, it shall be within the discretion of the municipal judge to require the performance of a designated amount of free work for a public or charitable purpose or purposes. The defendant shall be given credit at the rate of seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) per hour on the fine and court costs.
