§ 2-37. Qualifications.

  • No person shall be mayor unless he is at least thirty (30) years of age, a citizen of the United States and a resident of the city at the time of and for two (2) years preceding his election. He shall not be in arrears of any unpaid taxes. When two (2) or more persons shall have an equal number of votes for the office of mayor, the matter shall be determined by the city council.

    The mayor shall be a registered voter under the laws and constitution of the State of Missouri and shall maintain residency throughout his term.
