§ 16-51. Permit required; state license prerequisite to permit.

(a)

No person shall peddle, solicit or operate as peddlers or solicitors in the city without first having obtained a permit to do so from the city clerk. The issuance of the permit shall entitle the holder to peddle and solicit within the city. The holder of the permit shall exhibit his permit to any police officer who may request to see it.

(b)

No permit shall be issued by the city clerk until the applicant produces a valid state peddler's license and an identification card issued under section 16-34.
