§ 15-17. Composition; qualifications and appointment of members.

The mayor, with the approval of the city council, is authorized to appoint a board of nine (9) directors for the purpose of forming a park board in the city. The directors shall be known as the park board with jurisdiction, in accordance with this chapter, over the city parks. The park board shall be chosen from the citizens at large with reference to their fitness for office. No member of the city government shall be a member of the park board.
